- Auction achieves the “best price” on the day
- Auction achieves maximum market exposure
- Auction is ideal for “unique” properties
- Auction is an ideal method of sale where value is uncertain
- Auction provides an excellent sale method for family trusts deceased estates and corporate bodies
Properties for auction include:
Properties for renovation, properties with land, investment and speculative opportunities, building, agricultural and amenity land, forced sale properties and conversion properties.
Not all properties are right for auction. In many cases, private treaty remains the best method of achieving the best price and if this is the case, we will tell you. Having more properties in a sale is not our main objective, the best price and best advice is.

at the Derbyshire Sale Room
An important part and integral part of the Fidler Taylor practice, which compliments other facets of the business, is the well established chattels auction house, based at The Derbyshire Sale Room on the outskirts of Bakewell, in the heart of the Peak District. 3000 square feet of sales space provides excellent display facilities and ease of viewing for purchasers.
From the dispersal of the contents of a large country house to the sale of a single item, Fidler-Taylor can provide expert, free pre-sale advice and competitive selling terms including affordable commission rates and low buyers premium.
Monthly general and household sales, regular antique and fine art catalogue sales and additional specialist sales, mean that there is always an appropriate outlet for any lot consigned for sale to Fidler-Taylor & Co.
We also undertake professional valuations for probate, insurance, family division and taxation purposes and can provide a full house clearance service.

From 1st October 2008 all property (other than some exemptions) which are offered for sale or let, require an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). Fidler-Taylor & Co are suppliers EPCs for Domestic and Commercial property with partner and in-house assessor Simon Croft qualified and accredited for Domestic and Commercial buildings (level 3) energy assessment.
What is an Energy Performance Certificate?
An EPC provides prospective buyers and tenants information on the energy efficiency and carbon emissions of a building.
Sellers and landlords are required by law to provide an EPC.
A building is assessed and rated on an A-G scale, ‘A’ being the more efficient.
An EPC is accompanied by a Recommendations Report which offers practical suggestions on improvements which could be made to benefit the properties energy efficiency.
| Why | | ? |
We provide EPCs for Domestic and Commercial buildings and operate throughout Derbyshire and South Yorkshire.
Professional advice is backed by an efficient service and competitive fee structure.
Trained and accredited assessor through industry leader, BRE.
