A weekend update 27th March 2020 continued...

We are very proud to be part of the RICS, NAEA and ARLA, the latter two who now make up Propertymark, which has proven to be a knowledgeable and hugely supportive body at this time. Regular updates and advice are provided to us at early stages and we are also privy to some early insights into the matters being lobbied to government on behalf of all property clients and agents alike.

To recap and review the guidance for Estate Agents as set down by the government, it is recommended that the only house moves to continue at this time, should be those where the transaction has reached exchange of contracts already and completion can be agreed to go ahead by all parties. Other less progressed deals can progress towards an exchange of contracts, but it is likely there will then be a delay to preserve the safety of all concerned by not unnecessarily creating movement around the area or country. Of course, the solicitors acting will manage the individual deals and timings, along with our usual input, I dare say. We will be encouraging our clients to adhere to the guidelines although recognise there may be some exceptional circumstances which may create more of an urgent need to move.
